Himkok is Norwegian bar and distiller, based in Oslo. Himkok embodies Norwegian culture through its cocktails and distilled spirits with sustainability and a harmony with the surrounding nature central to how they work.
In 2018 I was commissioned by Himkok to create 13 bespoke illustrated menu designs. Each menu page was illustrated by hand with reference to a core ingredient and Bunad textile pattern. ‘Bunad’ is a term used to describe traditional Norwegian dress, usually dating from the 18th or 19th centuries. There are many regional variations to the intricate patterns – these variations were used to reference the locality of ingredients used. himkok.no
